2026 Summer Program

Sunday Mornings (10am - 11:30ish) Feb 1,8,15.

This program is designed for beginners and those people wishing to upgrade their skills to be able to navigate confidently through the bush. It runs in parks and reserves around Hobart in the three weeks leading up to our Autumn Twilight Series. 

Locations and Activities: Three different locations suited to the activities

• Week 2: Queen's Domain

  • Orientating the map with a compass
  • Contours
  • Mini-courses

• Week 3: Knocklofty

  Orienteering Strategies

    • Counting steps
    • Collecting and catching features
    • Simplification
    • Traffic lights
    • Relocation
    • Mini-courses

Fees

(school students must be accompanied by an adult, who must also participate)
