Details: The event will be a lot of fun and a chance to spend a day with friends or family testing your navigation skills. You'll have a great time exploring the eastern shore and can even pop by a bakery for cake and coffee as a pit stop.
MTBNav is a 6 hour rogaine devised to take advantage of the great MTB country between Geilston Bay and Tranmere on Hobart's eastern shore. The course has been designed so that people on foot will also enjoy the challenge. Rogaining is a lot like orienteering except that it is up to you what controls you decide to find and being longer, most people will opt to walk/jog. You can also opt to take easy tracks if your MTB skills are wobbly. Rogaining is also done in teams of at least 2 so can be quite social as you take part with friends. You will be using a specially prepared map that is a fusion of the normal street atlas and the detailed Orienteering maps that cover much of the Easter Shore bushlands. We think you will discover some MTB tracks you didnt even know existed!
Ride Bellerive are sponsoring the event and we have come up with an assortment of category prizes and spot prizes.
Teams can consist of between 2 and 5 riders (runners/walkers). More information and entry information is available on the RT website http://www.rt.asn.au . If you have any queries Please contact Darryl Smith on 0427 852077
