Description:
Course area is in the narrow
Stringy Bark Gully which is a previous council storage area in open eucalypt
forest. It is a small area for an MTBNav event and consists of rough gravel
roads and single tracks. Riding is on mostly gentle terrain in the gully, with
steeper tracks on the edges. Route choice is limited.
Event Type:
Local
event with one set course, using a relay format of two riders per Team. Both
riders ride the same course with the first tagging with the second by hand
touch at a relay changeover. Results are based on the time from when the first
rider starts until when the second rider finishes.
Courses:
A single short course of around
3km. Maps pre-marked. Solo riding.
Start Times:
Choose a start time when you arrive between 10.00am and 12noon. Two
minute start intervals. Both riders in the Team need to go to the start at the
same time, with the second rider waiting at the changeover until the first
rider finishes.

Enter on the day at the event.
Entry is open to any rider who is a casual or full member of Orienteering
Tasmania – casual membership is available at the event and lasts the calendar
year.
Entry Fees:

/ concession $4, and family $16. Casual members are adult $10 and junior /
concession $5. Junior is under 21 as at 31/12/10.

Jon McComb on (03) 6229 6336 or at jmccomb@infoasis.com.au.
Instruction:
Individual assistance will be
available at the event.
Special Notes:
Riders can either enter as a pair, or enter alone and they will be paired with another rider at the event. Really keen riders can ride the course a second time with a different partner to see if they can achieve a faster time. Given the compact location, the event could be suitable for older children who are reasonable riders.
