Winter Family Fun Outdoors Series
1 August at Seven Mile Beach - starts between 10 am and noon
Directions: Directions: From Tasman Highway, turn south into Pittwater Rd (1.7 k past the airport). Assembly is at the Ranger Station just east of the junction of Pittwater Road and Surf Road.
8 August at Coningham - starts between 10 am and noon
Directions: Turn into Coningham off the Channel Hwy and follow the orienteering signs to Coningham Beach
Everyone welcome – beginners through to experienced navigators.
Four courses of differing lengths and navigational difficulty will be available at each event.
Take part in all or just part of the Series. Enter on the day at the Event.

Adults $10 kids $5 (discounted fees and family rates available for full OT Members)

Courses 3 courses long 12 out of 15 controls; medium 8 out of 15 controls; short 5 out of 15 controls
All controls have equal value
A counter meal at the Newstead Pub is suggested after wards.
Northern Sunday Series: Five Logs
Date Sunday 1st August, 2010

Location Five Logs property, Ecclestone Road, Riverside
From West Tamar Rd take Ecclestone Rd. for about 5 kms to the Five Logs property entrance on the left. Follow the property road for 3 km to the assembly area. Please drive slowly. If wet this road will be slippery. Take care. SPEED LIMIT 20 KPH.
Start times between 10 am and 12 noon. Finish by 1.30 pm.
Courses 1. Long: 5.5 km; harder navigation
2. Medium: 4.5 km; harder navigation
3. Moderate & walkers course: 3.0 km
4. Beginners: easy navigation 2.2 km
NOTE: SportIdent will be used for this event – please bring your SI stick. Competitors who do not own an SI stick will be issued with one on the day.

Junior Training Camp
Calling for helpers at this year’s Junior Training Camp. If you are an experienced orienteer and would like to assist in sharing your experiences and navigational prowess and if you can spare one or more days in September in sunny St Helens (Great food Provided), you’re who we need. The September camp will be from the 11th -14th September in St Helens. Accommodation is at St Helens District High School with full use of the kitchen facilities. Paul Pacque and Brea Pearce will be coordinating the coaching but it would be very beneficial for our juniors to have some more experienced orienteers to assist them with navigation and map reading skills before they head off to the Australian Championships. It is not essential that you stay for the entire camp although this would be cheerfully welcome. Please send me an email for more information or if you are interested in helping.

Full Membership Cost Now Reduced By 50%
From June 30th the cost of taking out a full membership of one of orienteering Tasmania’s affiliated clubs is now half price. This means that is now an excellent time to take advantage of the benefits provided by full membership, not least of which is reduced entry fees to events.
The rates are as follows
Junior (Under 21)/Concession Individual $10
Adult Individual (21 and over) $20
Family $50
